Prospero Teaching are working with SEN school based in Bournemouth who are looking for Learning Support Assistant to join their SEN team from September 2018. This role is ideal for someone with SEN experience and confidence with challenging pupils.


ABOUT THE SCHOOL AND LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT POSITION:

  • Start date: 3rd September 2018.
  • Full-time, temporary to permanent role.
  • Excellent pay rate at £60-£80 per day, paid weekly.
  • ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating in 2016.
  • The school caters for some pupils with high complex needs throughout their day at school. This role is predominantly focused on a 1:1 basis with an individual with autism.
  • Senior support staff dedicated to your development and growth within the school.

THE SUCCESSFUL LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT WILL HAVE / BE:

  • Have empathy with pupils and be sympathetic to their needs.
  • Have excellent literacy/numeracy skills.
  • Well developed interpersonal skills and a good sense of humour while enabling effective relationships with a variety of different people.
  • Professionally discrete and able to respect confidentiality on particular issues.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE YOU WILL IDEALLY HAVE:

  • Have a working knowledge of the national curriculum, particularly literacy and numeracy requirements, and other relevant learning programmes/strategies.
  • Trained at least to NVQ3 standard in childcare.
  • Be able to use ICT effectively to support learning.

TO BE ELIGIBLE THE LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT MUST HAVE / BE:

  • The ability to provide two professional references, that cover the last two years of employment.
  • A fully enhanced DBS certificate that is registered on the update service, or be willing to complete one.
  • Be a UK resident or have the proof of eligibility to live and work in the UK.
  • Willing to complete a face-to-face registration in our Southampton office.
