About the job

Prospero Teaching are looking for an ASD Science Teacher with a focus on Chemistry. Experience working with children with Autism would be ideal but is not essential. The role is based at an SEN School in Cambridge and is start in September 2018.

About the school and contract:

• We are looking for a qualified Science Teacher to teach across key stages 3, 4 and 5.
• The successful candidate will be working with small groups of students with a range of high and low functioning Autism.
• Purpose built school with specialist learning areas.
• This is a permanent post to stat in September 2018, although there may be an opportunity to start sooner if the successful candidate is available.
• The role is to work in a Special School that Ofsted have rated as “Good”
• Applications from NQTs are welcome as the school has a very strong and well-developed NQT training and support programme

About the successful ASD Science Teacher:

• Previous experience teaching Science up to A-level, ideally within the SEN Sector, although this in not essential providing you have the right attitude and desire.
• Previous experience working with Autism would be advantageous
• A passion for working with children with Autism and for making a difference.
• Pro Active and innovative.

To be eligible the ASD Science Teacher must have/be:

• Qualified Teacher Status and good knowledge of the Science curriculums.
• Highly motivated and focused on achieving the best for every student.
• A positive attitude and desire towards working with SEN students.
• Lots of energy and enthusiasm.
• The ability to engage and motivate students whilst making learning fun.
• Excellent communication skills – the school encourages good communication with Parents/Carers.
